Michelle Yeoh, the star of Everything Everywhere All at Once, finds her next project in the form of Netflix's dark comedy series The Brothers Sun. Star of Everything Everywhere All at Once, Michelle Yeoh, will lead Netflix's dark comedy series The Brothers Sun, coming from creators Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu. The eight-episode series centers around a gangster from Taipei, Charles Sun, who is settled into his life as a ruthless killer. However, when a mysterious assassin shoots his father, Charles must go to L.A. to keep his mother and younger brother safe.
Now, THR reports that Michelle Yeoh is set to star in The Brothers Sun. Yeoh has been tapped to play the role of Eileen “Mama” Sun, a woman who has built a new life for herself and her son in Los Angeles, far from her past in Taiwan. Yeoh will be joined by an all-Asian cast including Sam Song Li (Better Call Saul), Highdee Kuan (This Is Us), Justin Chien, and Joon Lee. The Brothers Sun also features an all-Asian writers room.
Fresh off the record-breaking box office success of the A24 sci-fi flick Everything Everywhere All at Once, those who enjoy Yeoh's work have plenty more to look forward to from the Malaysian superstar. With appearances in James Cameron's long-awaited Avatar: The Way of Water and Paul Feig's Netflix fantasy film The School for Good and Evil to come later this year, Yeoh's busy 2022 is set to continue. The Brothers Sun has been described as an action-packed, darkly comedic family soap, and if Yeoh's recent track record is anything to go by, audiences can expect another strong entry into her already impressive filmography.
