Man Utd chief Ed Woodward ready to spend £269m on new players amid Jadon Sancho interest
Jadon Sancho is Manchester United's No 1 target in the upcoming transfer window.
Manchester United are prepared to spend nearly £270million in the summer transfer market to sign targets such as Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho free soccer daily tip.
Sancho is enjoying a superb season for Dortmund with 17 goals and 16 assists in the Bundesliga to mark him out as one of the most productive attacking players in Europe.
United have long been linked with the 20-year-old, who is willing to return to English football and prove himself after leaving Manchester City in 2017.
Dortmund are understood to want at least £80million (€100m) to let Sancho leave but hope they can convince him to stay another year.
However, according to German football expert Christian Falk, United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has the cash to persuade Dortmund to part with Sancho.
"In the case of Jadon Sancho, it would definitely be the next step in his career from a player’s perspective," he told utdreport.
"I have heard from my sources that United’s management is ready to invest 300 million euros (£269m) to build a new team.
"This is also a sign to players like Sancho that a big team is ready to be built up at United – there is a huge incentive.
"United weren’t convincing enough for Timo Werner’s poker. The next player will be moved on more aggressively.
"The 300 million euros can also be spent during this summer – if the needed players are on the market, and if they can sell some players."
Falk's comments come after former West Ham and Everton midfielder Don Hutchison claimed United would be better served going for another young player who is taking the Bundesliga by storm - Kai Havertz.
"[In Sancho] I see a young player that's got so much ability and when you are young you make mistakes on and off the pitch, which we've seen Jadon Sancho make this week," Hutchison told ESPN FC.
"I think he's got it. I think right here, right now if you're asking me the question 'Who would you rather have?' or 'Which player would you see going for over £100m?' between Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz, in my opinion I would be leaning towards Kai Havertz.
"I think he looks as though, at the moment, he looks a better prospect, he looks a better player because he looks as though he's thinking about the game more.
"But at the same time Jadon Sancho's got this electric pace about him, these super-quick feet soccer daily tips.
"If you get a manager who plays him and gives him loads of confidence and pits him with better players, the future I think could be incredible for him.
"But I think at the moment, I think Havertz is slightly ahead."
