Retrieval of lost UID/EID number through UIDAI website

You can Retrieve lost Aadhaar UID & EID Numbers and/or EID number directly from the website of UIDAI. The steps for the same are listed below –

• Go to 'My Aadhaar' on the home page and select 'Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID'.

• You'll be prompted to select whether you want to retrieve the UID or the EID in a new tab. 

• Whatever option you select, you must provide your full name, mobile number or email address that is recorded in the Aadhaar database, and the captcha code that appears.

• Then you'd have to create an OTP or a TOPT.

• Your registered mobile number will receive the OTP. If you have the TOPT, you can enter it instead.

• Your information will be confirmed after the OTP is input, and the UID or EID number will be displayed.

Retrieval of lost UID or EID number through mAadhaar application

The UIDAI has released mAadhaar, a smartphone application that allows you to access Aadhaar-related services. If you have an Android phone, you can register by downloading the app from the Google Play Store. alternatively, if you have an iPhone, you can download the app from the Apple Store. Once the application is installed and you've registered, you can use it to look up your lost UID and/or EID number. The steps are as follows:

• Choose 'Retrieve EID/UID' from the application's homepage.

• You will be provided two alternatives for retrieval: your Aadhaar Number (UID) or your Enrolment Number (EID)

• If you want to look up the UID number, click on 'Aadhaar Number,' which will take you to a new website. There, you must provide the 14-digit EID number, as well as the date and time of enrolment, as specified on the enrolment form. The date and time will also be imprinted on the enrolling document, which you can use to reference. The date should be formatted as DD/MM/YY, You'd need to enter the security code and obtain an OTP as well. The OTP would be sent to mobile number. 

• Enter the OTP and the UID number would be shown

• The OTP will be sent to your registered email address.

• alternatively, select 'Enrollment ID' to locate your EID number. A new screen appears, prompting you to provide your full name, optional email address, and registered cellphone number. Then, after entering the security code, request an OTP. Your registered mobile number will receive the OTP. You can retrieve the EID number by entering the OTP.

You can download your lost Aadhaar card once you've found your lost UID and/or EID number online. You can also get a duplicate Aadhaar card by ordering a replica of your lost Aadhaar card online.
