Netflix releases the first trailer for its upcoming action film, Interceptor. The film, starring Elsa Pataky and Luke Bracey (Hacksaw Ridge), centers on an army captain who unexpectedly becomes the last line of defense for a remote missile interceptor station. It was penned by director Matthew Reilly and Stuart Beattie (Collateral). A New York Times bestselling author, known for novels including Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves and The Tournament, Interceptor marks Reilly’s first foray into filmmaking.

The new trailer released by Netflix, Pataky makes her debut as Captain JJ Collins. Though she makes her displeasure towards her new posting on the interceptor station known, her presence there quickly becomes the only thing preventing nuclear war. Under siege by unknown terrorists, Collins sets out to do everything in her power to keep the control center safe. Full of gritty combat and intense gunfights, Collins warns her attackers: “You planned for every possible outcome.
Joining Pataky and Bracey in the cast of Interceptor are Aaron Glenane, Mayen Mehta, Rhys Muldoon, Belinda Jombwe, Marcus Johnson, Colin Friels, and Zoe Carides. The new movie follows in the wake of Netflix’s other major action titles such as Triple Frontier and Red Notice, with Extraction director Sam Hargrave serving as an action consultant on the film. Chris Hemsworth, who starred in Hargrave’s 2020 feature, is also attached to the new project as an executive producer alongside Christopher Mapp, Robert Slaviero, Kathy Morgan, and Peter D Graves. The Thor actor reportedly helped his wife, Pataky, to physically prepare for the role of Collins, which included up to five hours of training per day and learning approximately 800 stunt moves. Interceptor debuts on June 3.
