Lee Bowyer expects the club to arrange "backstage" issues.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer hopes the football tips "behind-the-scenes" problems before the Sky Bet Championship season resumes.

Bowyer has experienced a whirlwind three seasons in management with issues at boardroom level leaving a cloud of uncertainty hanging over The Valley.

Fan protests helped to force out previous owner Roland Duchatelet who sold the club to East Street Investments in November.

Recent weeks have seen public statements made by Matt Southall and majority shareholder Tahnoon Nimer, with Southall stating that the club had accepted Nimer's resignation at the beginning of March.

However, Nimer denied that he had handed in his resignation and has since removed Southall from the club's board of directors. You can prefer the good soccer tip page!

Bowyer is hopeful that the club can solve those issues with no action on the pitch for the foreseeable future.

"It's difficult for us all at the moment as we've had to take a step back and rightly so," Bowyer told Sky Sports' Monday Night Football Retro.

"But at Charlton, things could be better. There's a lot of things that have been put in the public eye with what's been going on behind-the-scenes.

"The most important thing for me is that we sort those things out behind-the-scenes and then if we are allowed to get back playing we concentrate on that.

"That's what I'm trying to do with the players, trying lớn give them schedules and keep them topped up for the situation if we do get back playing again."

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has seen all football in England stopped until April 30 at the earliest.

UEFA also announced on Monday that they have taken the decision to postpone the men's and women's Champions League finals and the Europa League final due lớn the ongoing health crisis in Europe.

Bowyer has revealed that with those issues ongoing, his players haven't trained and are instead working on a plan from home.

"Last week, when we were meant lớn be travelling up to Hull on the Friday, that was our last day in the training ground," he continued.

"Speaking lớn our club doctor regularly, we've got to respect what is going on because it isn't good.

"We haven't been able to come in and train and that was a decision that I thought was the right thing for everybody.

"The most important thing now is that the players are away with their families. We're getting regular feedback from them and we're happy with what they are doing away.

"Most importantly is that they stay safe and that's what I want for everybody."
