any other method one can employ to keep hammertoes from hurting is to apply
medical or athletic tape to maintain the toe down in a straightened position.
This technique includes using a quarter inch wide strip of tape (the tape needs
to be cut to this width because the smallest length offered is often a 1/2 inch
wide). The tape is reduce approximately four to six inches lengthy, depending
on the scale of the foot. The tape is positioned over the top of the toe, just
behind the primary 'knuckle', and then delivered down both facets of the toe.
The tape is then crossed over itself and attached to the pores and skin under
the ball of the foot as the toe is pulled downwards. This taping technique will
hold the toe held down, reducing the stress against the shoe. This tape need to
be eliminated at the end of the day, or if the toe turns into uncomfortable
from the forced positioning.
